dhamaka is an independent print magazine exploring South Asian culture and nightlife from the point of view of people from mixed, first & second-generation and third-cultural backgrounds, based in the UK.

We cover the huge cultural shift that was brought about in the 80s through the Underground Bhangra Movement, and other parallel cultural experiences that are often overlooked by mainstream society and cultural outlets. We seek to create a place to facilitate these connections and shared cultural experiences. We aim to build a community highlighting the important, and sometimes invisible, cultural threads that connect us all. 

Like its namesake, dhamaka is an explosion waiting to happen. We want to cover every beat, every story, every feeling that moves you.
